Geoff's Wikispace Hello,
My name is Geoff North and I'm currently enrolled in the St. Thomas University Bachelor of Education Programme. I'm from Fredericton, New Brunswick and a graduate of the University of New Brunswick (Bachelor of Arts - History major; Psychology minor). After graduation, I lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for two years where I worked in a 5 star hotel and traveled around Europe. After doing some more traveling through the Middle East and Asia, I ended up in Taiwan where I taught English and French at a private high school in the city of Taichung. I taught at this school for four years and it was there that I discovered my love of teaching. Which brings me to here and now.
I am excited to become a certified teacher and I hope to teach either History/Social Studies or English Language Arts at a Middle/Senior high level. My interests include music (playing guitar and bass; listening; songwriting; concert attending, etc.), literature, and creative writing. As far as my experience with technology, I am pretty comfortable using computers. Besides the standard Microsoft progams, I've set up blog sites before for personal use. For professional (or at least not personal) purposes, I've also set up and maintained a myspace site for a charity music festival I co-founded and organized in Taiwan. The festival was called Basic Aid and it ran for two years supporting an orphanage/school/medical clinic in Varanasi, India.
